Whenever I feel too stuck in my own head, I visit one of Manhattan's museums. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a tuned out world of endless multitasking, mindless busy-ness, and eyes on phone screens only, but I don't see that. It seems to me that art is everywhere, offering ways to pause, connect, learn. Art is rarely front page The New York Times news, but it's always there – a gallery opening in Chelsea, public art on the street, a small exhibit at the Morgan Library, a large one at the Met. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that art actually is all around.
